WELCOME TO SERGIEV POSAD
| By the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries wooden ware was being made in monasteries, especially in Sergiev Posad near Moscow. Sergiev Posad belonged to the lands of the Trinity - St. Sergius Monastery. The peasants from neighbouring villages volunteered to help in the monastery workshop where they could familiarize themselves with the production of the turned toys. |
