Polhov-Maidan is one of the largest village centres of art creative woodcarving. Although the doll was first made as a toy, it turned out so expressive and popular that became late a traditional Russian souvenir. The artist marks the pattern of the face in transparent link, and then the figure is painted. For painting they use a wide range of colours: blue, green, together with yellow, red and rose, gradually passing mellow violet. The whole style of painting is contrasting in colours, spirited. The paints are dissolved by water - aniline or gouache.There are no two dolls alike. The set includes 5 dolls from 14 cm. (5") to 4 cm.(1.6"). Ages 3-99 years.
